Eatin' plants gives ya energy

Whoda thunk it? Eatin' plants gives ya energy! And boy is that important to me these days! I'm in terrible shape -- horrible. Well, unless you consider round. But that's "a" shape, not "in" shape. Which is what I want to be.

So I eat plants. And have started trying Zumba, and tai chi. I just grabbed some youtube videos and use those, but it still counts in that whole "eat less - move more" thing. So it's good. Plus, I can feel that my muscles have worked! Not sore, not pain, but worked. This is very, very good.

See, the past 2 years have been very rough and I've allowed myself to sort of give up on taking care of me. Eating too much crap, not exercising enough, letting how stressed I feel decide what I eat and how I behave rather than kicking stress in the teeth and fighting back. The time has come to FIGHT BACK! Because seriously, when your 5-yr old pats your belly and says, "Mommy, we have to get some weight off you," you have a problem.

But not for long! I'm reclaiming my former healthy, exercising, not-eating-everything-in-sight ways and will get back to myself sooner, rather than later. W00T!

And since it's been a while, gonna post pics of my boys. I can't believe how big Kyan is:

and how GROWN UP Jaben is. How did he get to be a high school freshman??

Those? Are 2 very good reasons to take better care of myself. I want to be around to drive them crazy for a very, very long time!

Maybe not

So much for taking advantage of that child vacation. I worked, got some stuff accomplished around the house, and missed my boys. That's it. No big epiphanies, no soul searching, just.... hanging out, missing my kids.

At some point I know I'm going to have to figure out life without them, but Kyan is only 5 so I don't feel any real pressing need. Right now, this is my life. I work, sure, I do a few things "on the side" to keep my hand in with creative graphics (job does NOT require creativity!), but first and foremost I'm the mom.

And you know what? That's okay. It's my choice. I could do other things, I'm sure. People tell me I need to do some things for myself and I'm sure I do sometimes. But it's not priority for me. My priorities lie with my boys, and because that's what I choose - they're what I choose - it's all good.

I do reserve the right to change my thoughts on this at any time, but right at this moment, I'm cool with where things are. For now, let's just go with that.

Eczema

Kyan has eczema. He's always had eczema. He was born with eczema. He never, ever had that beautiful, soft, can't-stop-touching-it baby skin. He's always, always, always had eczema. And so I've learned how to care for it and make it better. Not cured, but better.

I highly recommend Huggies shea butter baby wash, coupled with Huggies shea butter lotion. Sensitive skin, fragrance free type, of course. Works wonders.

Except lately. For the past 2 weeks he's had a nasty outbreak on his bottom. I've tried everything - and I mean everything (mom told me to try Crisco on it and I DID!) and nothing works. It's gotten better... he can sit on it now. But it's not clearing up.

So, off to the doctor we went. We couldn't see our regular doctor, but got in quite easily with his wife (who is a total sweetheart! and you've got to love a practice that is truly a "family" practice!) who was so, so helpful. Kyan was more than happy to show off his hiney (what 3-yr old boy isn't?) and even shook it around for her. And now? Prescription cream (I believe she said steroid??) at bedtime every night, Benedryl at bedtime every night (wait, permission to drug my child to sleep??), and a special kind of soap.

Oh, and my favorite. No baths.

Gulp.

No baths for a 3-yr old in the spring.

Okay okay, not really "no" baths, but much fewer. Which does not bode well with a kid who only gets one every second or third night as it is. But, water is a no-no for a kid with eczema (especially as bad as his bottom is at the moment) so we shall forgo (most) baths for the time being.

I must resort to wash cloth sponge baths for now. Fun. If you have a little boy, I'm sure you're familiar with that lucious little boy smell of dirt and sweat. It's lovely, one of my favorite smells, actually. But imagine that smell on limited baths.

For possibly weeks.

In the spring.

Yeah.

I wonder if it'd be bad to Febreeze my 3-yr old?

My son… the exhibitionist

So Kyan’s new thing is peeing outside. I know that’s normal for little boys (and some little girls too) but yesterday he took it to new heights . Or lows, depending on your viewpoint.

We were on the big back porch getting ready to go into the house when Ky said he had to pee. So of course I told him to go in and use the potty. But oh no, not my boy! He gave me his sweet little devil smile and said, “No mommy, I pee here.”

Here, being outside.

Since I’m not one to argue with a newly potty-trained 3 yr old, I said fine, just don’t do it on the porch.

So he didn’t. We haven’t been able to fix up the porch yet, so he went over to a broken-out window, and proceeded to whip it out and pee on the driveway thru the open window!

Which would’ve been fine (I know, a little too mellow, perhaps?), except mid-stream two little girls rode by on their scooters, and Kyan waved at them and said brightly, “Hi!”

Um, yeah. No more peeing outside.

Sick to death of the bullies

Jaben called me from skating last night, asking if he could walk home. His grandma was supposed to pick him up so I told him to get ahold of her. He didn’t sound right so I asked him what happened, and he said nothing. But by the time I got home that nothing had turned into a giant purple bruise on his chin.

Some little brat had tripped him. Again.

One kid has already been banned from skating for messing with Jabe, and now he’s got a new bully to deal with? What the hell?!?

Is it because he doesn’t stand up for himself? I know that’s part of it. One well aimed, well timed punch and I think that’d be it. Or it would at least help.

Or is it because he’s creative, artistic, slightly different from the other kids? In a LOT of ways he’s a typical 11-yr old kid. But in some ways, the best ways, he’s his own person. Is that threatening? I know it’s not good for peer-relations to be different at this age, but he should not have to deal with this crap for being who he is.

And what about the parents of these kids? I know some parents who allow, and even encourage this kind of behavior. “Be the bully, not the victim. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want, to whomever you want. ..” Blah blah blah. Grow the hell up and teach your kids to be decent human beings. There are also the parents who are completely clueless as to who their kids are. Or worse, are in denial. Pay attention to who they are and what they do – NOT what you would like to think they are. I am fully aware that my son (and I’m sure at times Kyan will follow suit) can be a jerk at times. It is my job to correct that, when it happens. If you’re not, if you allow it to continue, you are not doing your job, and are, due to your negligence and poor parenting, responsible for the kids your child is tormenting.

I asked him last night if he liked himself. Or rather, if he loved himself. I told him I’d read somewhere that the best way to be happy is to first love yourself. He thought about it for a minute, then smiled and said yes, he does love himself and he likes who he is. And I guess that’s what’s most important. They can leave bruises on the outside, but on the inside he’s hanging in just fine. Thank God.

What do you do….

When one child has lost his PSP by taking it outside, putting it down, and FORGETTING ABOUT IT, then neglects to mention this little detail for…oh, THREE DAYS?

And the other, who seems to have forgotten he is potty trained for an entire day - when told, “I do not want to hear another word out of either of you,” responds with...

“Word.”

eBay, anyone?

Bullet point weekend

I can only manage bullet points today. Sorry. Why? Because...

• I've caught Kyan's cold and it SUCKS. My EARS itch - from the congestion, I think - but omg it's miserable.

• Easter is tomorrow! And how did that happen??

• We're coloring eggs today.

• People are coming over to help color eggs and my house is TRASHED thanks to my being sick.

• MORE FREAKING SNOW. Enough already.

• Will try to get pics of egg dying and post up later. For now, gotta run.

• Happy Easter, y'all!

So what do you think?

We survived the blizzard and things are melting/thawing out. In fact, it was NICE today. I think it would've been warmer if it weren't for the "cooler effect" caused by the giant piles of snow all around, but it was a pretty nice day. I haven't checked the weather yet, but hopefully we'll have more nice days to come. I am sooo sick of snow and cold. Enough already!

Tell me what you think of my new layout? I'm still figuring the whole HTML thing out, so at this point I'm just working on re-designing and all that, but I think it's coming along nicely. Still needs work, of course, but I think I'm getting there. Fairly feminine, but since so much of this is about my boys, it can't be too girly. Right?

Oh - and I've got some blogs I have begun reading recently that I need to add to the blogroll, so look for additions there soon as well!

Now that I'm done playing (for tonight, anyway!) it's time to head to bed! I might not have to work tomorrow, but I still have to get Jaben off to school. Joy.

Have a great night and a super Friday!

200 POSTS!!

I can’t believe this is my 200th post! Yay for me. Actually I just realized that as I opened blogger, so I don’t have any super-cool 200th post thing planned. If you’re reading, feel free to post a “you rock” comment. You know you want to.

So how am I going to use my epic 200th post, you ask? Why, to talk about what a lousy mom I’ve been lately, that’s how!

Ever have days/weeks/months when you feel like all you ever do is yell at your kids? Yeah, that’s how I feel lately. None of us seems to be able to do anything right. They don’t do what they’re told and I don’t handle it well and yell at them about it. I made a first step at making things better with Jaben by posting a chore chart for him. One of the reasons we’ve been having problems lately is because I feel like I don’t get enough help around the house. Seriously, how hard is it to put clothes in a drawer or laundry basket?

So every night when he gets home from school, he needs to check the chore chart and do what’s listed. And then do his homework. Very simple. He was told on the first day as well that the consequence for not doing it was to miss the Haven. Since this is the first week, I gave him 2 nights of skipping (after warning him that it’d better be done on night 2) and then told him no Haven tonight. Nobody is happy with me today, but I didn’t have a choice. I’m sure Jaben thought I’d give in and let him go, and I so wanted to let him go. But I couldn’t. If I give in already, the whole thing is wasted effort and he’ll see that I have no follow through on anything and he can do whatever he wants. That’s not the message I want to send to him. I want him to learn that there are consequences when he doesn’t do what he’s supposed to, and that there are rewards when he does. He hasn’t been the easiest, most well behaved child lately (where did the LYING come from, anyway?? Is this normal for this age or is it just my kid??) so we’ve got to start somewhere. And this is that start. I don’t like it, but it’s my job.

Now Kyan is a little trickier. With him it’s not leaving his things lying around. He is at the age where he likes to help me and wipe up his own messes, so that’s not the issue. With him it’s crying, hanging on me all the time, and being so clingy. I know that’s a good thing because it means he loves me, and I realize how lucky I am to have a happy, healthy little boy who is here and can hang on me and love me to distraction. But he needs to become more independent. He needs it and I need it. He will be starting preschool in September (please God let the ride work out!!) – did I mention we got the card in the mail saying he got in, and will be in the class I wanted him in?? So yes, that will help. For the time being tho, I am at a loss. I am hopeful that more one-on-one time will help, so I’m taking him to the mall on Sat for the “Easter treasure hunt welcome the bunny” thing they’ve got going on. Just US. He needs that and so do I. Kyan and mommy and it should be fun. Maybe he’ll even get some time in their play area. I think he’d like that.

And just so you don’t think I’m neglecting Jaben, he is getting some one-on-one time Saturday too. The Jamestown concert is that night and of course we have tickets!! But I’m thinking about taking him out to dinner, again, just us, so that we can talk and bond a little bit, and maybe find a way to see eye to eye on the things we’re having the most conflict over.

You know, most of the time this mom thing isn’t too rough of a road. There are hugs, kisses and giggles along the way, and I know how lucky and blessed I am. They’re healthy, mostly happy, and they’re here. But some weeks… it’s hard to not post them on eBay.

I voted - did you?

Whether your primary is today (ours is!), or has already happened, I hope you voted! I would love it if you voted for the same candidate as me, but it's not a requirement. Just VOTE for someone!!

*********

Tonight is the Boy Scout red and green banquet. We made cookies and actually didn't burn most of them! Major improvement over last week, let me assure you.

Kyan doesn’t want to go tho. I mean, I’m sure he will. His not going would mean me leaving the house without him – and we know that’s not going to happen. I can’t imagine he would want to go… it’s not about him, he has to eat food he’s not familiar with, made by people he doesn’t know, sit still and not play…. Just not the place an active 3 yr old wants to be. But I’m betting he won’t stick to his idea of “stay home with bama (grandma).”

Speaking of Kyan, cute little story I posted on my message board I thought I’d share here.

Yesterday morning Kyan had on these drawstring sweats that had pockets. He put his hands into the pockets and was walking around that way (loves his pockets, that one) and I commented that he looked like a little old man when he did that. Ky gives me that cute little mischievous grin, hunches his shoulders, shoves his hands further into his pockets and uses them to hike his pants up as high as they'd go, bent his knees and waddled in an "old guy" walk across the living room. Cracked. Me. Up!

Feelin like a bad mom

11 yr old boys are difficult. And lazy. And spacey. I believe all of them are that way, so why would I expect different from MY child?

Because he's MINE, that's why.

We were all home yesterday. Day off for Kyan and me (due to a workflow issue it made more sense to be off Weds and work Friday) and Jaben had a snow day. Yay! The whole day home in the middle of the week!

So what did we do??

Cleaned and fought, that’s what.

I cleaned, the boys fought, then I *tried* to get Jaben to clean and he and I fought. That child has the messiest room I’ve ever seen but he absolutely refuses to clean it. And since I don’t want him to miss out on anything, there aren’t any real consequences. So why on earth would I think he’d clean the playroom yesterday without serious threat?

Silly me.

We need a system, he needs to know his responsibilities consistently, and I need for him to HELP me out. Between the 2 of them, those boys can trash the entire house in a half hour. On a slow day. I am only one person and I am TIRED.

So rather than continuing to yell and completely destroying our relationship, I downloaded a chore chart format for Jaben today. Sure I could make one for him, all special and stuff, but I do not have time. Plus, I really just want this to be fast and easy. This will tell him what he needs to do each day of the week so that he can do it in HIS time, so long as it’s all done before bed.

I think I should also make him a morning routine chart (list?) to help him remember what to do in the morning. Like brush his teeth.

Say it with me now…. Ewwwwwwwwww!

Kalahari pics and update

Sorry it's been a while. I'm a busy girl, doncha know! But we had a great time at Kalahari last week!

The boys love it there and would go every week if they could.

A room with a view...

We also got to meet up with Stacy, which was great and not nearly enough time. We had about an hour while they waited for their room to be ready, but the kids all played in the dry play area and Stacy and I gotto talk. It was nice and I'd really like to do it again sometime soon!

Inother, slightly more amusing news... I've been working on Kyan's manners lately. Y'know, making sure he says "excuse me" when he passes gas. Except now it's, "Excuse me,Kyan," every time! And when someone else does, they have to say, "Excuse me, Kyan" as well. It's kinda cute. Then again, it may be one of those things you have to hear in person.

And in PLAY news -- Jaben got the part of the Artful Dodger in Oliver Twist!! We could not be happier or more excited! Can't wait!!

Who's raising YOUR kids?

If you’re one of those stay-at-home moms who look down on working moms, or consider them to be lesser parents than the stay-at-home variety, move along, nothing to see here.

** waits patiently **

Are they gone?

Okay good. Let’s talk about ‘em!

Just kidding!!

Seriously though, I made the mistake today of reading a message board of SAHM vs Working Mom debates. There’s a reason I avoid those places… I only read it today out of boredom, I swear. There was a thread titled, “Why do you SAH?” and my favoritest answer in the whole wide world was, “Because I don’t want strangers raising my children.”

OMG why didn’t I think of that?? Here I am, every week, moving my preschooler from daycare to daycare in search of new strangers to raise him for me!

** pops forehead in perfect V8 fashion **

I KNOW that’s not what they meant, but seriously. Strangers? Raising? I hardly think so. First of all, I KNOW my DCP and I trust her. If I didn’t, he wouldn’t be there. That’s not to say I didn’t make a few errors in judgment when it came to care for Jaben, but I learned and in the end he had a great situation with a provider who treated him as a member of the family.

She loved him, she fed him, she got him to school in the morning. But did she raise him?

Um, no. Not hardly. I raised him, and am in fact still raising him… with the feeding and the washing and the teaching of right behavior, and the cleaning of the vomit and dirty dishes, and the morality (what? A single mom with morals?? Unheard of! *snicker*), and the clean your room or I’ll kill you, and the….

Well, you get the picture. *I* raise my kids. With a little help from my friends.

[singing] Ohhhh I get by with a little help from my friends….[/singing]

Ahem.

I’m not against SAHM’s, it’s just when I read those things it makes me kind of gag a little. I remember when I was pg with Jaben, someone (who shall remain nameless) told me that yes, other people would in fact be raising my child. Oh how ignorant and wrong she was. I actually get a little tired of the whole debate. Why is there a debate and why should there be? Everyone just do what’s best for yourself and your family and don’t worry about what other people are doing.

THE GREAT AND POWERFUL OZ HAS SPOKEN!

Um yeah. I might need a nap or something.

Snoooooooooooooow

We've just gotten all kinds of snow today! I'm not overly thrilled about driving in it, but I'm excited because it's supposed to snow for the next few days and maybe, just maybe, I will *finally* get to take Kyan sledding! That poor kid has been so cooped up lately. Last week (when the weather was beautiful, of course) he was sick with a temperature and croupy cough all week, so he didn't get to take advantage of the springlike days. All he could talk about once he saw that snow this morning was making a snowman... so I hope he gets the chance.

Jaben got into some trouble this weekend, so he has to come straight home from school all week. I gave him a choice for tonight... he can either unload and put away the clean dishes I ran this morning, or take his little brother outside and help him make a snowman. I know what *I* would choose, but you know what that little... adolescent... said?

"What's in it for me?"

I KNOW!! Little brat. Who raised this kid anyway??

I'll be calling him at about the time he gets home from school to hear his decision. And if he gives me any more attitude, he can do both. Heh. Cuz I'm such a mean mom. Actually Jaben does tell me that I'm the strictest mom he knows. Obviously he doesn't know that many moms because, honestly? I'm a bit of a pushover. What's in it for me... bah.

This is why some animals eat their young.

Maybe this weekend I'll be able to finally get some pics of Kyan sledding to post up here. I never did post the photos from Jaben's play last month. Maybe we'll just do sledding pics in July. Or, knowing me? More like August.

That was a wash

So I guess I wasn't cut out for nablopomo this year. I think 10 days without a post pretty much proves that. The last week has been really busy and I would've had a lot to say, had I posted. But I didn't.

We had a great Thanksgiving. The night before, Jaben and I went to see Jamestown - Jill and Dave James band and it was so much fun! Jill and Dave are really sweet people to begin with and we know they're a lot of fun to be around, but their show was more than even we expected! We had a blast!! Jill says they're having another show in February, so if you're in the area I suggest you consider going - it's more than worth the price of the tickets!

On Turkey day, we went to my aunt Sandy's house. Everyone ate, drank, and was merry the whole day. Even the big kids got along - and the little kids didn't fight nearly as much as they usually do. Although that may be because Megan was good about hiding the toys they argued over the minute it began. WTG, Meg! So it ended up being a nice day.

Friday, we did nothing. It was nice, but I felt like such a slug because I'm not used to staying in pj's all day and sitting around like that. It felt weird!! So Saturday I cleaned some, then took Jaben and Kyan to see Bee movie!

Kyan's first theatre experience! And it went WELL!!!! Because it was his first time, we got popcorn and drinks and both boys got a candy, and wow even being a matinee it was REALLY expensive! So that won't be happening again for a while. At least not with all the extras. The movie, however, is cute and I do recommend it if you get the chance. If it kept Ky occupied, it MUST be good!

After that it was back to same 'ol same 'ol. Sunday was cleaning blah blah blah, and Monday - Fri back to work. I have figured out Jaben's play (The Nuttiest Christmas Carol) will be on Dec 15 at 7 pm at the theatre uptown for anyone who is interested. Tickets will be available at the door. It'd be great to have as many people as possible come out to support him. I'm sure if you know Jaben, you know how good this class has been for him and his self esteem and image. So if you can, come out and support my boy!

That's the short, not-so-detailed version of what we've all been up to lately. If I'd managed to keep up with nablopomo I could've made things more interesting, but now, with so much to say and so little time to say it... this is the best I can do. I'll be back again when I can -- hopefully much sooner than 10 days!

Yep, I blew it

I forgot to post last night.

I suck.

I have a good excuse tho.

I forgot.

And then I fell asleep.

Because Monday night I had 2 little boys in my bed and I was too squished and too busy playing the gravity game to be able to sleep. Jaben heard "noises" and Kyan generally joins me sometime in the night. That night, he found Jaben in "his spot" and screamed, at the top of his voice, "JABEN -- MOVE!" repeatedly. So, I pulled him OVER Jaben, to sleep practically on top of me, and that was pretty much the end of my sleep for the night.

And so last night, I went to bed early, and just as I was drifting off to blessed sleep, I thought, "NaBloPoMo... ahhhhhh... screw it."

Between here and there

There is a very big difference between here and there. Although it's a small community in general, these two areas of town are completely different. I don't think there is a big economical difference, but the people are so very, very different.

There, most of the neighbors were rude, I worried about my kids when they went outside - I never knew what was going to happen.

Here, I step outside and say hi to the neighbors, I know my kids will be fine outside, and if something were to happen I would hear about it from whoever was a witness. And I would hear the truth.

There, if a child took something that belonged to another child, the story was deny, deny, deny. "Not my child." "You're a liar." "If you didn't see it, it didn't happen." "How dare you?" And my favorite... "I'll kick your ass!" And those are the supposed adults.

Here, if a child takes something that belongs to another child, the parent brings the child over, makes him give back what he took, and apologize. The child is punished and the parent is not only angry at the child, but embarassed at their behavior. It is so much easier to remember that all kids do these things and to forgive and move on when you know it's being taken care of in the home. When you know the parents are teaching the children better than that. When you know it's not condoned. Once a child leaves your sight (as they all must, at some point), you can't control their actions, you can only hope they remember what you've taught them and pray that they do right.

A good parent teaches his or her child to do right and corrects them when they do wrong. A bad parent defends the child, regardless of that child's actions. And that defense can make for an uncomfortable, sometimes dangerous neighborhood.

That is the difference between here and there. And I'm so glad that we're here.

Long, busy day

It's been a long, busy day.

To begin with, I've started working on Fridays again. I had to... I need the money. I had set it up so that I'm only there 4 hrs, and can still take Jaben to school and pick him up, and today was the first day this was to happen.

Ah, the best laid plans....

7am the phone rings and it's the babysitter. Her grandmother had passed in the night. I'm so sorry for her, she was still at the nursing home when she called and she sounded awful. No problem - I can't imagine a better reason for being unable to work.

So, plan B. I call my sister and wake her whole house to get her to drive here to take Kyan. Sweet Jaben made her a pot of coffee and met her at the door with a cup. When I saw her later she said it was the worst coffee she'd ever had (FAR too strong) but she bravely drank some because Jaben made it. Things like that are why they love her.

So I got Jaben to school and made it to work only 1/2 hr later than planned. Got some stuff started but nothing finished, and was on my way home. It was semi-productive and I'll take that for the first day. When I got home, Ky was sleeping and that was good because I was able to clean up the massive toy pileup in the playroom. Mom showed up and I was able to pick Jaben and Adam up at school. Yahoo!

But then. Okay, ow. Jaben was having trouble keeping the laundry hamper/basketball hoop his grandma bought him upright, so I came up with a way to rig it so it'd stay. It works really well but in the process of said rigging, I hammered my right index finger.

Read that again. I hammered my right index finger. Yeah, it really f-ing hurt. The nail is bruised and the whole finger is swollen and here I sit, using a mouse and typing. Bright one, aren't I?

But I lived, and we took the kids swimming at the rec. The water was nice and warm but it was FREEZING in the locker rooms. They REALLY need to do something about that. Otherwise, it was a fun time.

Now, everyone has had their day - which weren't bad, even with a pounded (and really f-ing sore) finger - we've swam, had dinner, and Jaben is currently serenading me with his viola. I've missed the beginning of Ghost Whisperer to type this (and ouch my finger hurts from pounding the keys!!) so I'm going to go watch now. Yay for DVR! I can watch while it's still on and not miss anything!

And as an added bonus for reading that rambling... a pic of Kyan my sister sent me from her phone. Cute, isn't he?

CRASH!

The boys broke a picture frame tonight. Not too much glass around, but Kyan got sent to bed and Jaben got sent to take his shower. They were both very sorry, it was an accident for sure, but it's still broken.

Guess that's what we get for letting them ride tricycles in the house.

Um... ow!

One thing about having boys... those external boy parts and their sensitivity.

Ky likes to run around bare bottom after his bath at night, which is no biggie because he uses the potty a lot better that way. Last night he was doing that when all of a sudden he let out this horrible scream, started crying and dancing around the middle of the room holding "himself." We later figured out how he'd hit "it", but at the moment all I could do was pick him up and hug him. When Jaben figured out what’d happened, the kid went pale… he says that’s the worst pain there is. I’ll have to take his word for it.

So anyway, I’m sitting on the chair hugging him, rubbing his back and kissing his cheeks – cuz really, what else could I do – when Kyan, so tearfully pathetic says, “Mommy, kiss it!”

And I am such a good mommy – I laughed. Yes, that’s right, my baby hit his weewee for the first time hard, and mommy laughed. I so rock. I told him Mommy couldn’t kiss his weewee, but that it would feel better soon anyway. But then he decided he needed a Spongebob bandaid. Cuz you know, bandaids solve everything. And in my infinite wisdom, I put one on. It’s not ON the weewee, it’s above it, on the flat soft part, but still a rather sensitive area. That sucker is going to stay on there until it falls off in the bath tonight cuz NO WAY am I pulling it off!! Ow ow ow!! Course the bandaid was bugging him this morning, but there wasn’t anything I could or would do. It’s staying there. He’ll just have to have a soapy bath tonight.

I told the babysitter about it this morning so she’d know why there is a bandaid on his weewee, and she said what I thought… “I hope he doesn’t have a messy poop in there today.” LOL! Let’s hope for a good potty day!
