We survived the blizzard and things are melting/thawing out. In fact, it was NICE today. I think it would've been warmer if it weren't for the "cooler effect" caused by the giant piles of snow all around, but it was a pretty nice day. I haven't checked the weather yet, but hopefully we'll have more nice days to come. I am sooo sick of snow and cold. Enough already!
Tell me what you think of my new layout? I'm still figuring the whole HTML thing out, so at this point I'm just working on re-designing and all that, but I think it's coming along nicely. Still needs work, of course, but I think I'm getting there. Fairly feminine, but since so much of this is about my boys, it can't be too girly. Right?
Oh - and I've got some blogs I have begun reading recently that I need to add to the blogroll, so look for additions there soon as well!
Now that I'm done playing (for tonight, anyway!) it's time to head to bed! I might not have to work tomorrow, but I still have to get Jaben off to school. Joy.
Have a great night and a super Friday!

10 posts in 10 days! Check me out!
I'm really surprised that I've been able to keep up with noblopomo. I really wasn't sure I'd be able to do it, but here I am, 10 days in, and still moving along. Yay me!
I've been reading a lot of blogs lately (check out the updated blogroll to the right, you might find something new you'll like) and there's one I would like you to stop by and check out. The blog is called Clever Nonsense and it's written by a woman named Brandy, who I met on an expecting board when I was pregnant with Kyan. She's a working mother of 4 and is currently in the midst of her second battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma. She is amazing. I've never met Brandy, but I can tell you that she is one of the strongest, most upbeat, positive people you'll ever have the privilege of encountering.
If you've got the time, stop by and read a bit. I guarantee you'll be as astounded as I am by Brandy. Add her to your prayer list, drop her a comment and show her some love.

That's done but it wasn't easy
I've re-added the blogroll.
It's not as full as it was because I've had to remove some people. Mainly due to blog overload. There seems to be a problem with bloggers just adding too much stuff to their blogs... you know, posting awards in the sidebar, animations and ADS. I've got nothing against these things, for the most part.
But there are at least 3 blogs I love that I can't even really access anymore because their ads, animations, awards, or photos take too long to load or are too big and either take entirely too long for the time I've got or simply freeze up my computer. I know blogher is extremely popular, but if you've got blogher ads on your site, I'm probably not going to be visiting anymore. The blogher ads are some of the worst for causing load problems for me and no matter how much I love your blog, I just don't have time for that. Sorry, I'll miss you, let me know if you're able to reduce some of what they've done to you, but for the time being I won't be visiting. Which sucks.
I'm still working on the whole customization thing myself (and wow this new set up on blogger makes it MUCH easier than the old one - if I'd known this I'd have updated my template much sooner! Even if it DID delete my blogroll it's totally worth it!) but if you don't know what you're doing, if you don't understand size and load times, please please please limit yourself on what you add. There are a couple of other blogs I went ahead and listed that I may not be able to check much longer because they're simply getting too big. I keep thinking of that whole organization thing... one in, one out. If you're adding something new, please remove something old. That will keep things running more smoothly, keep your load times down, and allow more people to access your blog. If you're not sure this applies to you or you think it might, it probably does. Removing one or 2 older things definitely makes a difference and might make it easier for more people to visit you. Just a thought, I'd hate to have to remove anyone else. I'm bumming about the ones that had to go because geez my blogroll is small now!
It couldn't be helped. I'd like to add more and I'll probably be searching for more imaginary friends soon, but for now it has to be what it is.

I did it! I did it!!
Aren't you so proud of me?? I finally updated the blogroll! I was also considering a template change because I'm deathly sick of the pink... but that can wait. I want to look into that custom template thing first. Anyway, take the time to peruse the new blogroll! There are some new links, as well as some old ones that have been removed, one blog had a name change, so that has been updated... well, just go look. They're all good, I promise! And if any of the links don't work, gimme a holler. Hopefully the ones I added without asking are okay... if someone wants their blog removed, as always just let me know.
On the home front, it's official that Kyan is a clumsy as the rest of us. In the past 2 days he has run full speed into a doorframe and gave himself a bloody nose (that was fun, lemme tell ya) and this morning he was pouting (I’ve no idea why – he’s 2) and bumped his own head into the wall.
* sigh *
I’d really hoped the clumsy gene would take longer to kick in, but obviously I’m going to have to keep a close eye on doppy boy #2. Let’s see… Jaben held out until he was 4 to break his first bone… any bets on how far Kyan will make it?

2 things, real quick
I'm hoping to update my ridiculously out-dated blogroll real soon, so if you read regularly and have a blog, and would like your blog to be included, please comment and let me know and I'll put you on! I do ask, however, that you add me to your blogroll as well. Thanx!!

One thing I’ve needed to do for a while is send out an apology. I can’t imagine the person for whom it’s intended will ever see it, but I feel it’s necessary. I had a “secret” blog before I started this one. Not secret in that NOBODY knew about it, but secret in that nobody I knew IRL knew about it. And don’t bother looking, you won’t find it. But anyway, there was a post on there in which I said some pretty nasty things about a woman who hangs on a message board I used to post at. I don’t go there anymore for my own reasons, which have nothing to do with this particular person, but I know that she does. Anyway, I basically called her a train wreck and not any kind of person to look up to or idolize. And I wasn’t nice about it, or apologetic and it was absolutely uncalled for and unnecessary and I have no excuses for it. But the thing is, I was wrong. Not only for saying it (or even thinking it, for that matter), but just generally wrong about her. She hasn’t had the easiest time lately, having endured unimaginable personal tragedy and not only come through it, but seems to be doing amazing. That’s inspirational. That’s something to look up to, that’s strength of character and shows who she really is. Maybe she’s made choices in her life that I don’t necessarily agree with, but it’s not my life, my choices, or my place to judge. I prefer to think I’m a better person than someone who would be so judgmental, but I’m not, any more than anyone else is. What I said was mean and nasty and I am genuinely sorry for it. And (not that she’ll ever see this, but that’s not the point) I hope that the person I’m referring to knows how amazing she’s been, and how strong during the past months. And if by some odd chance of internet connections, she sees this, I’d like her to know that I really do feel awful about what I said and that I hope she can accept this as an apology.

Mmkay, that's about it. Don't forget to let me know if you'd like to be included in the upcoming new and improved blogroll!
